Quit smoking . . .: Congratulations on breaking the habit & quitting smoking! In general, tobacco smoke tends to deaden cilia, little hairs that sweep debris out of breathing tubes. After you quit smoking, cilia come back to life & start removing junk that's been building up all the time you were smoking. That's why many ex-smokers report worse cough after quitting! But stick with it so that cilia can clean up lungs!
