No: The extra medicine is not toxic to your child like it would be doubling up on a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other med with a narrow safety profile.There may be an increase in the risk of developing diarrhea at higher doses.

: It is not dangerous but bacterial resistance and ineffective (failed) treatment due to an incorrect diagnosis are my concerns. If diarrhea occurs when retaking amoxicillin then you should stop and notify your doctor. You may need a second opinion for whatever problem you have at this time because repeated course of amoxicillin the third time in 3 months does not seem acceptable. Good luck.

: For what condition? We only recommend a short dose for prophylactic therapy for dental procedure but the dose is higher, 2,000 mg.

Danger - no: It's not dangerous in that it is going to hurt you in any way. However, two questions to think about: why did you have some left over - you should finish what you are prescribed every time to avoid bacterial resistance. Number two: why are you taking expired antibiotics? If you have a new illness that you think needs medicine, you should gt an appropriate dose for an appropriate period of time.

Yes and No: Smoking weed while pregnant is dangerous. Taking amoxicillin while pregnant is not dangerous, unless a person is allergic to amoxicillin. Pregnant women should not take anything into their bodies that is not healthy and necessary.

Urethritis treatment: Azithromycin causes almost no side effects other than stomach upset after a large dose -- and that usually clears up in 1-2 hours. Amoxicillin is a poor choice: it will not cure urethritis except when caused by gonorrhea, and often not then. If you're dead set against azithro, talk with your doctor about doxycycline (but that actually has more side effects). The probiotic will make no difference.

Too much Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate): Nope. He may experience some discomfort in his abdomen and even have some softening of the stool, but not to worry. He should be fine.

Risk vs benefit: Think of every medication, procedure &amp; test as a double edge sword. You need to figure out of desired benefit is greater than potential risk. With regards to antibiotics, we don't recommend them for simple colds &amp; sinus infections which are typically caused by viruses. But most bladder infections &amp; sexually transmitted infections/diseases respond to antibiotics (and are worth risk if not allergic)
