No: If you need additional medication at the IUD insertion, that may not be possible as the marijuana and other meds may interact to your detriment.

Happens: This may or may not be due to the misoprostol.  It can cause uterine contractions and bleeding, but that may also be due to other things.  If the problem exists after the IUD placement let your doctor know.  Just remember that placing the IUD itself may cause some irregular bleeding.

my gyn prescribed me misoprostol for an iud insertion tomorrow, she prescribed me 200 mcg every 6 hours for 4 doses. is diarrhea & cramping/stomach upset normal? will i bleed if i continue with the other 3 doses? do i really need to take this before?

Give your doc a call: Misoprostol does make it a little easier to insert an IUD but diarrhea and cramping are possible side effects.  I've inserted many IUDs without prepping with Misoprostol and the difference between those that take it and those who don't is small.  I don't know your specific case.  Your doc deserves a call if you are considering going against his/her advice.  Best wishes!

IUD placement: Probably to make your cervix softer and thus make the IUD insertion less uncomfortable for you.

Fibroid treatment: Uterine fibroids are not treated with methotexate. Cytotec (misoprostol) has been used to induce abortion and decrease menstrual blood flow but is not able to shrink fibroids. I have never heard of an IUD being used to treat uterine fibroids. Consult with your gynecologist is your fibroids are causing pain or excessive bleeding.

No: IUD,s are usually placed by GYN doctors and sometimes by Family practice doctors who are trained to do this. A GP may be an internist who has no training in performing this procedure. Your insurance should cover this procedure .Call the company to check on this and also you can shop around your area for a GYN with competitive pricing
