Lump: The fact that it fluctuates in size would speak more for a cyst. However, a biopsy might be helpful.

Tinnitus: You may have tinnitus that is causing your tinging ears. Consult your ear doctor. Perhaps he will be able to find a cause for your condition.

a lump has grown on the back of my neck on top of my spine & on the sides (feels hard as bone) for 10+ years & my doctors keep ignoring it. they say its probably just a cyst or lymph nodes. now im having arm numbness & neuro issues.. what can i do?

Nerve compression: This time with your symptoms it is likely to be addressed as nerve compression is suggested. Start with your main doc who has been following for the last few years. He or she will be in best position to further coordinate and save you time in the process. Alternatively an urgent care will likely address it as well, if not being established with any physician at this time.

on 6/20, i developed what i assume were swollen lymph nodes under my right armpit. they were sore 2-3 days and it was 2 days before my period. there is still a small lump there (just bigger than a pea). very mobile and not tender. cyst or lymph node?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. As an alternative you may watch and wait. You may feel the node every couple of weeks, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, you should see a doctor.

Cyst: A cyst is a fluid-filled sac and will be squishy.  It will feel sort of like a water balloon.  It may shrink and expand depending on the day.  A lymph node feels more solid, and has no squish to it.

Unlikely: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

2.5 cm cyst: 2.5 CM is rather large for a lymph node -- this is best evaluated by your primary care physician.
