Need more info.: I presume you refer to the carotid artery in the neck. So what you are asking about is what types of lumps can be found in the neck. Many types of lumps can occur in this area. Some are cysts or lymph nodes. Various types of tumors can occur, as can aneurysms. If the lump persists it should be seen by a physician, who may need to do imaging or other testing.
