i have a cyst on the back top of my head, ivr had it for 7 uears, it hasn't grown, there is no pain, should i be concerned,  or not let it worry me?

Not to worry: I think it's nothing to worry about but please keep an eye on it. If it grows, becomes painful or itchy, or hardens etc. you may also want to see a surgeon if it bothers you cosmetically.

Cyst: Skin cysts are usually removed by a simple procedure to cut them out. There are many types of cysts. I do not have enough information to say your cyst is in the skin or needs to be removed

Maybe: Cyst on the back of the wrist are not uncommon.  Most are ganglion cysts.  Operative treatment is usually reserved for painful cysts.

Cyst Treatment: If they have been there for several months then they will probably need to be surgically excised.  If new (less than a month), they could be acne or folliculitis and might respond to a steroid injection or oral antibiotic.

See below: These cysts are easily taken care of in most cases by a minor procedure called and incision and drainage. The cyst is numbed with a local anesthetic and then a small cut is made with a scalpel to drain the cyst. Usually there is a capsule to the cyst which is pulled out through the small opening. It is a simple procedure that most doctor knows how to do and do in the office.  Surgery sometimes.

Keep an eye on it: Probably no cause for concern but if it becomes red, sore or starts draining it could be infected.  You could see your FP to get it removed before infection occurs.
