? epidermoid: Epidermoid cysts are common cysts that occur from an invagination of the outside layer of the skin into the underlying tissue. These are benign cysts, however, they invariably grow and may rupture. Given that this is a cosmeticaly sensitive area, i would opt to remove it surgically (very quick and easy) to avoid rupture and inflammation/scarring.

Surgery: Sounds like surgery is the way to remove this.  You can try warm compresses if it is a pimple it might drain.  See an ophthalmologist.

Yes: Lesions above the brow can be removed for diagnostic or cosmetic purposes. This is generally done by a plastic surgeon, or oculoplastic surgeon if one is available in your area. It would be outpatient surgery. Pathology results would likely be available within a week.

Sure.: This is a kind of cyst involving a sebacrous gland and has a lot of dead skin cells or keratinocytes in it.  This is why it gets bigger and needs to be removed, along with the possibility of complications.  But it should not involve many hair follicles, as a lot of its growth is below the surface and does not extend past its capsule.

Dermoid : It could be a benign cyst known as dermoid cyst if it is in the outer corner. Please get it checked out by an ophthalmogist.

Sebaceous Cysts : Probably Sebaceous cysts, the ones not painful. The one painful is probably an Infected Sebaceous cyst. I think.

marble sized lump on 1 yr olds eyebrow, ultrasound showed it was a cyst. hes now 2 and its shrunk to pea sized. need to be removed? dr says no.

Some basics: If it is a cyst &amp; has decreased in size, it may continue to shrink or not. It could be removed with a small scar through the eyebrow but in a 2 yo it would need to be done under general anesthesia ( cooperation issue) which I would avoid for something so minor. If it remains when he's older &amp; he wants it off, do it then when it might be done under a local.

Yes: surgical trauma to the delicate structures of the face, head, neck will swell (usually at a peak 3-5 days after surgery) and bruise. This is in part due to the fact that there is a hard bony under structure so swelling has only one way to go... out and laterally following the natural tissue planes. Ice, Ice, Ice and Ice some more.

infected cyst just under eyebrow. prescribed doxycycline hyclate and mupirocin. how quick will these two meds reduce cyst size. will i still have to get this drained. or will meds remove cyst. not sure why derm didn't go ahead and drain. ?

Close to the eye: I would think the dermatologist factored in the risk of incision and drainage in an area like that... For example - cut too deep and you may damage the eye, that would be right underneath the scalpel blade (at least the top part of the eye and some important muscles that control the eye). Doxycycline and that ointment should work -it's dual therapy. See the doctor in a couple days if no better.

can a cyst in eyebrow cause swollen and tender lymph nodes in the neck - same side as the eye? i'm also extremely fatigued x3 days.

Well, if the ...: ...cyst is actually an infectious process, such as an abscess, etc, than maybe that would cause some lymphadenopathy.  Get an eval with some possible labs including a cbc-diff to diagnose your condition if it persists.  Good luck.
