Not much: You may lose up to 5-10 pounds in the first month after lap band placement.  The band is not tightened until 6 to 8 weeks after implantation; therefore it does not restrict food much until it has been adjusted, and as a result, there is little weight loss.

Depends: Generally 20-30 minutes of aerobic exercise is the minimum needed preferrable at least 3 times a week for a positive cardivascular response and health.  The laps may depend on your speed and length of the pool.

Many: The complications include any that can occur with surgery, particularly bleeding or infection. Most people receiving this procedure are non compliant and are at risk for perforating their stomach and severe infection.
