Not much: You may lose up to 5-10 pounds in the first month after lap band placement. The band is not tightened until 6 to 8 weeks after implantation; therefore it does not restrict food much until it has been adjusted, and as a result, there is little weight loss.

15 - 10 - 5: After a band, most patients lose about 15 pounds the first month (depends on total amount of excess weight), then 10 pounds the second month, and about 5 pounds a month for the next several months. Then, it depends on eating compliance.

1.5 to 2 per week: The first month before you start your fills often you are on a modified diet so weight loss is variable between surgeons. Once you start your fills expect to lose about 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. Or 5-10 pounds per month on average.

None to a lot: Depends on how much you are eating, and how much you weigh to start with. If you weigh a lot, you will lose more. If you have three weeks of liquid diet you could lose a lot. The key to weight loss is how much you are eating, and what you are eating. There is no average- this is not a race, this is a lifetime of change. So use it that way - measure your food, eat healthy.
