It takes time: Most mouth ulcers will heal on their own in 7-14 days. You can alternately rinse with salt water and 3% hydrogen peroxide (diluted 1:1 with water). There are also a number of otc medications at the local pharmacy or supermarket. They probably would decrease the healing time but will make it feel better. If it doesn&#x27;t or they last more than 2 weeks see your dentist.

Miracle mouthwash : There are several variations of this mouthwash that seems to relieve painful aphthous ulcers.  It is not however a cure but does seem to relieve the pain.  Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and the anti diarrhea medication kaeopektate are mixed 50/50 and you swish it around your mouth and then spit the excess out.  Do not swallow.
