It takes time: Most mouth ulcers will heal on their own in 7-14 days. You can alternately rinse with salt water and 3% hydrogen peroxide (diluted 1:1 with water). There are also a number of otc medications at the local pharmacy or supermarket. They probably would decrease the healing time but will make it feel better. If it doesn't or they last more than 2 weeks see your dentist.

Unfortunately, no.: If you feel an apthous ulcer (canker sore) coming on, you can take some l-lysine and it will reduce the severity of the symptoms. However, once the ulcer forms you just have to wait for your body to heal it.
