Possibly congenital : Only a carefully conducted clinical examination with useful tests will be instrumental in determining whether the child's optic nerve cupping is pathological or a variant of normal. The father with similar clinical findings doesn't necessarily rule out disease in the child. The father could have glaucomatous disease. He should be carefully examined too. My advice:  make an appt. with a glaucoma MD

washed my face with bar soap and some got in my eye. i started splashing my eyes with water by cupping my hands for 2-3 minutes. the eye was quite red, i applied drops and felt better the next day. any risk of eye damage? did i rinse enough?

: The fact that the eye is feeling better is evidence that you have rinsed enough of the soap out. Irritation is normal. I’m not sure what kind of drops you used, but none are indicated for this issue.

Congenital disc: Congenital disc abnormality is one of the accidents of development which appears at birth.  Commonly it will have abnormal or lowered vision associated with it. If this is suspected, a pediatric ophthalmologist should be consulted.

Optic nerve: Your symptoms and MRI findings warrant collaboration between a neurologist and ophthalmologist. Entities like optic neuritis and increased intracranial pressure,as in pseudotumor cerebri are possibilities.

No: Cupping treatments do not have any effect on Hepatitis B. That means cupping does not make a patient's Hepatitis disease better or worse if she has the disease, and cupping does not make it more likely or less likely for a person to catch Hepatitis B, if she does not have the virus. Of course, every person who does not have the virus should get the vaccine... to prevent Hepatitis B.

Chinese cupping?: If you are referring to the above, it is common to get bruising after cupping but I've not seen blisters.  Are the cups too hot?  Are you on a blood thinner?  Please see your doc to make sure your health is ok for cupping.  Peace and good health.
