my whole foot went numb and is really swollen ?

really hurts and cant walk on it ?

should i go for x- rays or not ?

Yes get evaluation: Keep foot elevated to minimize swelling but evaluation is smart idea to minimize the time you are out of action. X-ray or even MRI may be necessary.

Accepted Answer

Broken bone: Bone takes 6-8 weeks to heal in a normal healthy person.  Only your physician can tell you when you can walk.  Walking to soon can place you at risk of further injury.  Once your x-rays show healing, you will be allowed to gradually progress to full weightbearing.

Foot tenderness: After a traumatic accident, tenderness, bruising and swelling are common.  There is a chance of ligament damage or even a fracture. It's important to protect the area and get an x - ray from a foot specialist to determine the extent of your injury.

i rolled my ankle today, and looking at foot anatomy its where my cuboid bone would be. i have swelling in that area. my ankle feels fine but more of my foot. hours later i can barely walk on it. ever soon sprain. herd slight pop noise?

: It is possible you subluxation of cuboid bone. Test for this is to try and make a circle with your foot clockwise and counterclockwise. Compare to other foot. If unable to complete circle is Pathognomonic for subluxation of cuboid. If it is subluxed then you need to fined a podiatrist or DO doctor that knows how to manipulate the foot

i have a misdiagnosed fracture for sprained ankle on my cuboid bone for 2.5 months.it's 3.5 months & my foot start to get swollen much more. why?

Fracture non union: That fracture may be going into a phase of delayed healing depending on the treatment you've had thus far. If the fracture is not displaced, then you may benefit from a bone stimulator to expedite healing. Otherwise you may need surgery to address it.

i'm training for a marathon after a 17.5mile run i began to get lateral pain in my left foot when weight bearing & walking. no swelling/bruising no pain while resting slight pain when i press into side of foot near 5th metatarsal and cuboid bone.

Jones fracture: The peroneus longus tendon wraps around 5th metatarsal at that location. Common fracture.

Could be...: Could be chronic instability of the joints surrounding the cuboid bone or the onset of posttraumatic arthritis. Need to be seen by a orthopedic or podiatric foot and ankle specialist for evaluation.

May require some simple as an orthotic and pt or surgery.

A cam walker : Would be a better option. An ankle brace may not do anything, as the cuboid is in the foot and not the ankle.
