ct scan w contrast showed my stomach is collapsed, and there appears to be diffuse gastric thickening and as some stranding adjacent to the distal stomach, as well surrounding indistictness of the perigastric fat and some fluid, what does this mean?

EGD  needed: I do not know your symptoms but CT findings indicate that you should see a gastroenterologist, take the scan with you so they can make decision regarding best way to diagnose and relieve your symptoms. Ct scan: Generally a ct scan is not very effectice without contrast.  There are 2 types IV and oral.  Oral contrast will help define abnormalities inside the stomach and intestines such as tumors, ulcers and the like.  Iv contrast is better to evaluate the liver kidneys internally.  It should be noted that this is a generalization and that oral and IV contrast used together are complimentary.

Sometimes: Generally an upper endoscopy can be more sensitive.

Not likely: If ct and egd did not show a cancer, it is not likely that you have one. Your pain does need to be investigated and you should see your doctor for an evaluation. It would be okay to get a second opinion.

Lots of things!: Your scan included the base of neck, chest, including lymph nodes, blood vessels, the heart, and lungs, and upper abdomen.  There is much to see but hopefully it will be ok.

Gastroenterology: Ct is great for seeing the abdominal organs but not the best at examining the lining of the stomach or intestine in conditions like gastritis.  I would recommend consulting with a gastroenterologist.

Doctor can recheck: Many things are in the upper abdomen:  stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, gall bladder, large intestine, abdominal muscles, etc...  An exam by a primary care doctor can help figure things out. The stomach itself and the spleen are in the left upper abdomen. Pain in the right upper abdomen, plus symptoms that occur after eating, can be due to gallstones or other gall bladder disease.

Abnormal: dilatation of the stomach, volvulus, hiatus hernia, tumors, inflammatory processes, to name a few.
