: Unless you are having transient ischemic attacks, or a prior stroke, the described findings would be most consistent with some aging, and would not be a finding to provoke alarm.  Use of preventative medication would be based upon clinical co-morbidities.  Due to the CAT scan results and headaches, do obtain neurology consultation.

Not without symptoms: If you are not having symptoms, I don't think you even need an MRI. It's just wasting time &amp; money going after an incidental finding. Most brain cysts are benign. If they were expanding, you would have neurologic symptoms (headache, vision probs). What prompted the MRI in the 1st place? Many things.: It can detect many conditions. Ct is particulaly good at detecting bleeding in the acute setting and hydrocephalus, and some masses. It's not nearly as good as MRI for looking at small structures and white matter disease. Both ct and MRI are usually more sensetive and specific when contrast is given.

Depends : Calcification can give an idea of an intracranial aneurysm, but contrast study is essential for a complete study and the amount of contrast used in ct imaging of the brain is small.

i had a ct of head and neck with contrast. i was pushed under ct scan. tech said would be about three minutes but i was under it for 20 minutes.they inserted contrast and was out.is this normal?could they have left radiation on by error? why so long?

: Positioning for the best possible study takes time and remains the most time consuming party of specialty exams The actual time on for the CT study using modern equipment is a few minutes per study (ie. with or without contrast). They do not "leave the machine on" for positioning and do not rush the patient out after a study.

i have been having lightheadedness for a while.  would a ct of head and an mri with contrast of brain detect blockages in arteries?

No: Assuming the other more common causes of lightheadedness such as medication, etc. Have been excluded...A cta (ct angiogram) of the head and neck should show any arterial narrowing/blockage. An mra of the head and neck (no contrast) will similarly show arterial narrowing. Ct head without contrast will only show calcific atherosclerosis and MRI brain with contrast is not used to evaluate arteries.

can all 4 wisdom teeth coming out affect speech? such as stuttering etc. had mri w/ and without contrast + ct of head in may. both fine.

No: There is no link between the teeth and stuttering.
