bad right side headaches pain above eye. had ct and cta. normal but mild right sphenoid sinus mucosal thickening. gave antibiotic. this cause headache?

Headaches: I doubt if the sphenoid thickening is causing your headaches. Rather I would be more inclined to think that your status needs to be reevaluated. Your PVC's and or your tachycardia may be to blame.Discuss problem with a cardiologist perhaps for a clearer understanding of your problem

what is the difference between a ct and a cta scan ? ive recently had a cta and the report says images where taking without and then with contrast. does this mean i had a normal ct scan imaging first and than images with contrast after ?

: CTA is a study of blood vessel integrity.  A CT looks at skeletal and soft issue areas, and only indirect observations of vasculature.  Have no clue regarding your sequencing, but you are encouraged to contact radiologist and discuss at length.

Yes.: The symptoms are transient(the T in TIA) and by definition don't cause permanent changes, or any changes in most cases, on CT/MRI.

on a calcuim score ct does your heart rate have to be low like in a cta?

No: Not as necessary for coronary calcium scoring, but my radiology department  thinks it is best if HR is below 80.  It depends to a degree on the speed of the CT scanner.

a cardiologist suggested a calcium score/ct scan but didnt know if that scan would show what a cta ordered for a possible pe would see. can you tell me if one ct scan would show blockages and/or a pe so i don't need two scans?

Calcium score: I believe that at least in some hospitals if the radiology department knows in advance, they can plan to visualize the coronary arteries as well as check for pulmonary embolism. If this is done, one wouldn't need to also have a coronary calcium score ct scan to assess risk of coronary artery disease. It's best to verify this with the radiologist.

also:
1) Risk of induced Ca from 6 CTs is very, very low.
2) There may be cellular repair at doses as low as CT, limiting cancer induction. (We don't know how much).
3) Whatever the theoretical risk, there must be a good reason to do the CT in the first place. I would worry more about why so many CTs.

Coronary Calcium: Coronary Calcium analysis is a method to detect calcified cholesterol in the coronary arteries. A score of zero is quite helpful and predictive in the correct age group. The difficulty is that in younger people, there may be noncalcified cholesterol plaques in the arteries which would not be detected on a coronary calcium screening test, so cardiac CTA or invasive angiography would be considered.

May be: The pul, doc ,if looking for pulmonary embolism it may not help but can see calcification on-the coronary artery
if not a dedicated CTA for coronary calcium score it is not adequate and also this doesn't give  a accurate status of stenosis . Stress test is the best option.a calcium score by itself shows there is coronary atherosclerosis not severity of disease

Depends: CTA is probably the most accurate to evaluate Internal Carotid artery blockages.
