i had an iui 19 days ago, took a pregnancy test and it was negative. i've missed my period and i've had mild cramps. could i be pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: By 19 days after an IUI, if properly timed, a pregnancy test should show up positive.  Your period may not have came for several reasons.  You should follow up with your fertility specialist.

i am 12 days post iui procedure with brown spotting and a negative pregnancy test. what could this possibly indicate? i had cramping and felt like i would have gotten my flow 2 days prior to the brown spotting?

Accepted Answer

: Low levels of pregnancy hormone at "12 days post IUI" can represent pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic), so obtaining a serum HCG level ( a more sensitive test than a home pregnancy test) will provide more certainty.  If positive, see your GYN physician for an exam and possibly more testing.

i am currently 8dpiui since iui day i have been having creamy cm cramping and nausea , this morning i had snot like cm. could this be a pregnancy sign?

Accepted Answer

Possible: It's possible, and I know you are anxious, but you will have to wait to find out for sure. You can do a pregnancy test a few days before you should start your period, as it may pick it up that early. If it's negative, wait to see if you start, and if not, check again.

iui done on 9thjuly.1st beta hcg on 22 july 4.7 , 2nd beta hcg on 24 july 7.8. worried about low hcg levels.should i continue pregnancy ? no cramps/sy

Expected increase : In early pregnancy hcg levels should come close to doubling every 48 hours. The actual level of hcg can vary widely depending on day of implantation, individual etc and therefore the level of hcg is not as helpful as the amount of rise in hcg over time. Unfortunately early pregnancy is a difficult time when there is no test that will tell you for sure if a pregnancy is normal or not. Hang in there

Re-check PG test: Wait 24 hours and if no period re-check the pregnancy test. Sometimes, the first test may be too early to have enough HCG (pregnancy hormone) present to convert the test to positive. If you still see "no period" and the test is faintly positive or negative have a GYN MD do a blood pregnancy test and exam to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

Take a test : You can not draw conclusions regarding pregnancy based on these symptoms. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available  at any pharmacy.  The best time is if you miss your period

Accepted Answer

No: Iui usually is timed for ovulation.  This generally will be around cycle day 14 and even if not, the timing of the pregnancy test assumes day 14 for ovulation. The second 1/2 of the cycle is the luteal phase and is very consistent at two weeks.  Pregnancy testing is generally done at the two week ( cycle day 28) or beyond depending on the routine of the provider. Best of luck!

See a doctor: Hi.  I am not sure what you mean by "iui", but sometimes back pain is a symptom that accompanies pregnancy.  Of course, other conditions can also cause this. I would see a doctor and get a thorough evaluation

6 days after IUI neg: Too early to tell, because implantation is about 6 days after ovulation.  Wait another week and test again.

Maybe: Pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.
