I am 12 days post iui procedure with brown spotting and a negative pregnancy test. what could this possibly indicate? i had cramping and felt like i would have gotten my flow 2 days prior to the brown spotting?

Low levels of pregnancy hormone at "12 days post IUI" can represent pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic), so obtaining a serum HCG level ( a more sensitive test than a home pregnancy test) will provide more certainty. If positive, see your GYN physician for an exam and possibly more testing.
