Not progesterone: Uterine cramping can happen for many reasons - you don't say where in the ivf process you are - but Progesterone does not cause cramping, if anything it tends to relax muscle.

Not abnormal: Stretching of the uterus has been known to cause cramps. This is sometimes referred to as "growing pains".

Common: It's very common, but that doesn't always make it 'normal;' i strongly recommend talking with your ivf doc about this, he/she would want to be the firstone you ask! good luck.

Depends: Usually bleeding will start 14-5 days after your retrieval.  If you have a day 3 transfer that is 11-12 days later or 9-10 days after a day 5 blastocyst transfer.  If you are taking Progesterone supplementation it may supress bleeding even if you are not pregnant.  The period will usually start 1-2 days after stopping progesterone.

IVF cycles: Implantation of a fertilized egg can cause some cramping and "spotting", but normal causes of diarrhea and intestinal cramping will in general not directly affect implantation.  There are causes of severe diarrhea and cramping which may need treatment, however, and prolonged exposure to this may later affect a pregnancy. See your doctor if this persists.

Not necessarily : Check with your ivf doctor, and make sure you're taking your medicines (progesterone ?) correctly. Do nothing anyone else says before checking with him/her.

Repeat the BHCG: Since this was an IVF transfer you are probably already following closely with a doctor. Your doctor will want to repeat the BHCG to confirm a normal rise and then will schedule a sonogram to confirm pregnancy. Right now you will have to wait as it is too early to draw any conclusions

Normal after IVF: This is such an emotionally charged time--so disappointing to have gone through all the work of IVF &amp; then a negative result. The process of IVF throws your reproductive cycle into upheaval..cramping, bleeding, spotting, irregular periods, rampant emotions ....you can expect it all for a month or more. It would be impossible to pinpoint the precise cause. Just nurture and take care of you!

i have undergone et in ivf cycle&on 2ww.i have mild pre menstrual cramping on&off and am scared as i still have about 10 days before i take test. help?
