what will a doctor do to help a broken finger heal?

Immobilize it: At the least, a broken finger needs to be immobilized with a splint to allow the bone to heal.  Some fractures are treated with surgical pins to bring the fractured segments closer together so they can heal.

It depends: It depends on the type of fracture and where it is. Some fractures can be treated by simple buddy taping; others require more extensive splinting and even surgery.

Injury?: Your history is  a bit vague . Clarify what u mean by 'weak'.  Does your knee feel like it's going to "buckle" going down stairs, does it feel unstable or 'loose' , did u have an injury recently? Be specific and the answer may be more helpful. X- rays are commonly" negative ". A good history and thorough phys. Exam by a board certified ors should give u a presumptive dx.If unhappy, see another ors.

my doctor has missed things on past xrays that a second opinion found; i see a lot of white spots on my lateral chest xray-are they normal or not?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without examining you and your imaging studies. In addition to the examination by your doctor, the radiologist should have provided a written opinion of the x-ray findings.

Not necessarily: These are general diagnoses that have little description as to the pathology that is occurring. An x-ray can occasionally identify pubic fragmentation in chronic osteitis pubis or sclerosis in si arthritis, but their absence doesn't mean that it's not there. An MRI is more sensitive and is good at picking up acute inflammation, but relatively poor in chronic situations of inflammation.

No: Some fractures particularly to the sacaphoid may not be evident on initial films, and repeat x-rays are performed 2 weeks later to rule out this type of fracture. Weekly x rays are excessive unless the reduction is unstable and they are assessing the need for open reduction with internal fixation.
