R/O KELOID: KELOID IS A HYPERTROPHIC post surgical scar that can be hard to treat. It is seen more commonly in African Americans and people of middle eastern decent. It can be treated with laser and steroid injection. You need a good plastic surgeon consult.

i've had thyroid issues in the past and am having clinical signs again. my dr recommended checking bloodwork but she only checked my tsh (it's normal). is this the normal/best way to monitor for thyroid disease?

Tsh: TSH which is normal pretty much rules out a thyroid disorder. Other thyroid blood tests can give conflicting results in certain instances, but the TSH is very reliable and quite specific. If you have further concerns, a thyroidologist or endocrinologist is best qualified to evaluate your thyroid status.

hi, my tsh levels are 1.3 my doc says this is normal , they wont do ft3 and ft4. i am showing all signs of thyroid disease, it runs in family too.

You are correct: If your doctor won't order the appropriate T3 (liothyronine) and T4, consider changing your doctor, particularly with your family history and possibly related symptoms.

Maybe not: You don't say what is wrong with your thyroid, and what medications you are on. If the sx in your neck are from an enlarged thyroid (goiter), the medications may or may not help.  It would be important to figure out exactly what is causing your symptoms.  Usually a modest size goiter does not cause symptoms.

Very unlikely: Neck pain is not a component of lupus. Do you have any other criteria for lupus?

See below: If it is in the back of your neck, it could be osteoarthritis, degenerative disk disease, cervical radiculopathy.  You would need to see your doctor to have an exam and possibly imaging to confirm.  If it present, physical therapy, injections, and medications soemtimes helps.

A few possibilities: Could be tension headache (HA),but they rarely last that long.Sinus HA-if severe-can cause all your symptoms.Onset &amp; type of pain are impt: if it started in neck/upper back-could be musculoskeletal dysf.Could be viral or Zoster.Could be inflammation of cranial nerves.Time to see dr.Osteopathic manipulation may help if rib, vertebral, or cranial problem, sinusitis.Neuroprolotherapy could help.
