Other symptoms. : A bowel obstruction will cause cramping abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distention, and constipation.  Back pain and pain with walking may occur but this would be secondary to the above symptoms.

constipated for 3 wks.took miralax & colace 3 days, didn't help. i've had small, hard bms but not much.took mag citrate (300ml) & had diarrhea after. no formed stools. bloating, abd. & low back pain,borbor.  could this be a partial bowel obstruction?

Probably not: Doesn't sound like a typical small bowel obstruction. Its possible however. If you haven't had previous abdominal surgery, it would be very unlikely. Ask your primary if a referral to a gastroenterologist is appropriate, and ask about irritable bowel syndrome. Hope this helps!

i have been having lower stomach and severe back pain. i was hospitalized for a bowel obstruction. now i've been diagnosed with two hernias. are the problems related?

May be: Difficult to say: what was the reason for obstruction and what type of hernias do you have?  Hernia can cause obstruction. Incisional hernia can happen after surgery.

have been experiencing severe stomach & back pain, pain after eating and fatigue for approximately 4 months now.. diagnosed with severe grove pancreatitis , also had bowel obstruction. hospitalised twice.. is this acute or chronic pancreatitis? thnx?

Both acute/chronic : Technically this is acute relapsing pancreatitis. Regardless of name, potentially very serious. Often caused by an abnormality in the pancreatic or common bile duct. Probably need an abdominal MRI scan (or similar), perhaps transfer to a tertiary care center (if feasible).

As much as you can: The intrinsic activity of your bowel slows down, at times very significantly after any abdominal surgery.  Being active will minimize the delay in recovery.  In general, the less time you spend in bed, the quicker your recovery.

It is possible,: But not likely.  Intestinal obstruction usually causes crampy abdominal pain, distention, obstipation, nausea, and vomiting.  And you need to get xr's or even sometimes ct scan to be sure.  If you suspect intestinal obstruction, you need to go to ed right away.

Yes: Plain x-ray might show obstruction. Best test is a ct but in your case might not be needed.

Many possibilities: the back pain could  be muscle pain or disc from straining at the stool. It could be inbtesinal but usally that is felt in the abdomeln
