i fell pretty hard the other day and now my left butt cheek hurts. no bruise just pain, walking , sitting. is it all muscle or is it broken bone?

Bruise, probably: If you can bear weight, it is probably just a bruise. Barring something really rare, it is pretty hard for a young person to break your hip or your pelvis in a simple fall from the standing position. If the pain is not a lot better in a few days, get an x-ray.

i gt a fracture 7 weeks back. i feel da bone is better but the biscep muscle is still bruised en as hard as a stone what should i do for it?

Hematoma: This is probably a hematoma (collection of blood) which will eventually  resolve....Application of heat will hasten this process! Hope this helps

my husband broke one of his back ribs. there is a large lump where the rib was broken. is this the muscle swelling from the broken bone piercing it?

Sounds like: you are describing a "hematoma" collection of blood in the intercostal muscle(s) around the fracture.

An x ray is probably a good idea.

Not necessarily: Broke bones take 6-8 weeks to heal under normal situation.

It varies.: It varies from person to person and other factors, such as nature of the injury, etc. A typical range could be 2 to 8 weeks.

Fracture: Your muscles haven't necessarily deteriorated but have decreased in their size due to the lack of use. When it comes to muscle, the saying "if you don't use it, you lose it" holds true.  But no worries, if your fracture was treated correctly you should be able to make full recovery and regain your original muscle mass and strength.

what are the symptoms of a broken bone vs. just a bruised bone?

Fractured bone?: Both conditions are painful. On examination, both can be tender as well. The best way to differentiate is to get an xray. Some fractures may not show up on plain xray, but that is the best place to start.  Occasionally, if xrays are not conclusive, but symptoms persist, other studies such as MRI can be helpful. Could be bone pain: If you are still experiencing pain in the region of the fracture 2 months after the injury, it is possible the fracture hasn't healed completely.  Make sure you are cleared to begin walking by your physician.  Have xrays confirmed that the fracture was healed?

Plantares : Plantares tendon rupture. Back off training, heat and nsaidsand slow return as tol to full activity. To be sure see an ortho.
