Voice rest: Hydrate well.   Consider using a warm air vaporizer. Mix several teaspoons of honey into herbal tea  with a squeeze of lemon juice.  Or make tea with 2 tsp of marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes).  Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve coughing. See a physician if your cough is not resolving, difficulty breathing or temp &gt; 104.

Give it time: Usually 1-2 weeks. Give it a bit more time. Contact your doctor if no better after 10-12 days.

Uri: Your child has a viral upper respiratory infection. Use salt water nose drops for his nose. Use a vaporizer for steam to relieve the hoarseness.Elevate his mattress at sleeping time and rub vaporubon his chest.

Cough: this can be secondary to acid reflux which is common with the progression of pregnancy. try having some Tums (calcium carbonate) tablets, and see if it helps. if it is a cold  it is unlikely the baby will get it.

Superinfection: Colds, or upper respiratory infections, are most commonly cause by viral infections which resolve on their own in 3-7 days.  Viral infections do NOT respond to antibiotics.  However, when your immune system is taxed by fighting the viral infection, bacterial infections can set in.  Symptoms that do not improve within a few days, worsening symptoms, new fever, or chest pain warrants a doctor visit

You need visit: You need to be tested and seen by your doctor. There are several system symptoms and a viral disease including covid can do that. The throat tight symptoms specially if you have difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing needs an evaluation.

Cough: This is  not unheard of, especially here in the pnw this year.  Prolonged coughing and slow recovery can be normal this year. But, if you have not been to the doctor to see if you have pneumonia then it may be time.

Otherwise good hydration and rest is key.
