i am experiencing  neck pain(sensitive to touch in front) feeling of pins and needles in neck, chronic cough, neck spasms, ear ache (quality: dull or aching sensation, sensation of pressure or fullness). what could this be?

More than one thing: There is  not one diagnosis - you can have the cough aggrevating te neck issues such as  disc, spasm, pulled  muscles, etc You need  an evaluation to look at these  issues.

Likely nothing: If transient sensation only after you cough, you are likely getting benign irritation of the intercostal nerves (the ones that travel between the ribs) with the activity of coughing.  This is like tapping the 'funny bone' in your arm- the nerve is temporarily stunned and fires off, but not injured.

shortness of breath, tachycardia, congestion, cough. pins and needles in upper body intermittently, but this recently stopped. o2 is normal, ekg is normal. tested negative for covid. is this lingering bronchitis or cause for further concern?

Sx's:  Did you have symptoms at the time you had the COVID 19 test? This could be bronchitis  or other conditions. If you were fully symptomatic at the time of COVID testing, it should have been able to pick up on infection.

Nerve compression: This is usually due to a disturbance of a nerve by compression from an external force or some internal dysfunction like a disc protrusion or swelling along the path of the nerve.  Other causes include diabetes, and chemotherapy.  Most can be stopped with massage or readjustment of the position of the involved limb.  If persistent see your family doctor for analysis and treatment.

See your physician: Numbness and tingling in any extremity can be due to many reasons including sitting or standing in the same position for a long time, nerve injury, electrolyte abnormalities, vitamin deficiencies, etc. True weakness with paresthesias  would be more concerning. Pins & needles: The most common cause of pins and needles sensation in the back of the head is a pinched nerve in the neck, usually secondary to significant arthritis or disk degeneration. If the pain is constant, it is understandable that he might want to bang his head just to distract himself from a worse pain, but this isn't the best way to deal with it. Have him see a doctor. Treatments are available.

Paresthesias: That's the term for pins &amp; needles; or since you're a Brit, paraesthesias. You haven't stated how long you've had this, or how big the spot is, but if it's gettiing worse, have it checked out. It could be a problem with a nerve root in the spinal canal. As it says on the cover of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Don't Panic! But have it checked out.

Need more info: A whole host of things can cause this.  Much more information would be needed to help determine the cause.  For example is it more during the day or at night, which fingers. Etc.  The most common causes for tingling in the upper extremities are peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, or a pinched nerve in the neck (radiculopathy).  Though much more info would be needed...
