sore mouth, itchy throat, and dry cough suggest a viral infection involving the lining mucus membrane of respiratory system - upper and lower airway. Swelling of lymph glands of the area is associated with the process of our immune system trying to fight the virus.  Symptom relief can be achieved by gargling with warm salt water, and ibuprofen. See doctor for antibiotics if needed.

Possible sinus: infection. You must be examined, evaluated and treated by your physician. Get checked for nasal allergies.

Throat infection : Your symptoms of cough, swelling in your neck and associated throat pain suggest an infection. Often these are viral in nature and resolve with time. Use over the counter tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil  to control discomfort or fever. If this is viral there should be some improvement soon. If these symptoms worsen or do not resolve, you need to see your doctor.

Lymphnodes: This can be common, as often the nodes may get blocked and stay enlarged for quite some time.  See your Dr. for an eval and eventually if they do not decrease with treatment advice form your dr. you may need testing and further eval of the nodes. good luck.

Pertussis: Adult pertussis infection has been occurring more commonly, but coughing since may is certainly unusual and unlikely to be due to that prior infection alone.  Suggest that you be reexamined by a doctor and have them make a more specific diagnosis.  There may be other issues.

Likely no: Swollen lymph node are first response from you body to fight the infection, while in your case is flu. Cough drop would be unlikely to make it worse, the infection itself would be the reason. Drink plenty of fluid and rest, keep a good hand hygiene. Probably cold or flu: Probably just a bad cold or flu. But with "high fever" you need to contact your doctor. Maybe s/he will want to examine you to check for bronchitis or pneumonia that might need an antibiotic. If chills, shortess of breath, if you cough up any blood, or if you have other lung disease like asthma, do it now, even though it's Sunday pm. Otherwise it should be safe to wait until tomorrow. More specifics: Do you mean the swollen nodes at the left side  of the neck and  not the whole body?  If so, it may mean that there is a sinus infection or dental abscess. I can't think of a condition which causes nodes to be enlarged involving much of the left side of the body. Perhaps you need a second opinion by seeing another doctor
