Sterod causes acne: Depending on the amount and potency of thesteroid that is being used topically, a significant amount of steroid can be absorbed into the blood stream.  Systemic steroids are known to aggravate acne and may also affect resolution of infected lesions.

i have sebohorric dermatitis, should i be getting acne on areas i'm not applying corticosteroid steroids? because its in my bloodstream maybe?

Both are common: You list seborrheic dermatitis and acne; many people, including myself, lived with both for decades. They are different and you manage them separately -- and I'd urge you to do so aggressively. You also list pityriasis lichenoides chronica, which is less treatable. Chances are that you'll end up working with one or more physicians and become extremely well-informed about all three. Best wishes.

Varies with agent: The answer depends on the concentration of the corticosteroid and the corticosteroid itself used since they are not all the same.  We use intralesional triamciolone at 3 mg/cc concentration and typically use about one cc.

Mild.: Hydrocortisone is one of the least potent topical steroids. It would not normally be used for acne.

Yes: Keloids are treated with intrasteroidal injections. Other than that there is currently no other treatment.

Steroids and acne: Two problems here: 
1. Corticosteroids may appear to improve acne at first, but eventually they worsen acne breakouts.
2. Ointments block pores and lead to more acne breakouts as well.

Please see your dermatologist for better options for acne breakouts.

am having skin eczema..as i have lots of itching, redness and pimples...am using eucerin but so far no respite...do i need some corticosteroid....thx.

More Aggressive Tx: Avoid long hot showers and harsh and drying cleansers. Apply fragrance-free moisturizer like Vanicream or Eucerin 1-2 times/day. For eczema flares you need to be applying prescription strength corticosteroid ointments to problem areas twice a day until clear. Wet dressings (wet wraps) at night and chlorine baths if more severe.

i've been on a high dose corticosteroid on my face now i have pimples and inflamation around my mouth could this be related and what am i to do ?

Likely related: The acne flare you are experiencing could very well be related to the steroids that you have been prescribed.  Notification of your prescribing physician would be wise, and consultation with a dermatologist for an individualized skin care regimen would likely be helpful.
