The world is not going to end from radiation, heat waves, tornadoes, typhoons, lightening, floods, earthquakes, cold wave or any thing else like that. Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Same: Hurricanes and typhoons are the same. They are storms with different names based on where they occur. Hurricanes occur in the Atlantic and Northeast Pacific. Typhoons occur in the Northwest Pacific.

Hurricanes: The more severe the hurricanes the more you have to try and leave for a different place. Not always possible!
If it is really bad the Police and Fire Departments will try as much as possible to find  somewhere to stay.

It has been tough but my understanding is that things are getting better - albeit slowly.. I certainly hope that is the case. We will all think of you and hope all goes OK!

Bacteria: Your concern is bacteria. If the shell fish get washed ashore then you may have an issue. If when the water settles and the shell fish remain in their habitat and are then caught you should be alright

Treat with bleach: After a flood, earthquake or other major disaster, avoid drinking or preparing food with tap water until the authorities say it is not contaminated. If uncertain about tap water safety, adding 2 drops of bleach to each quart of clear water (4 drops if cloudy water) makes it safe. Mix well and wait 30 minutes before drinking.
