You : You likely had an allergic reaction to the soap you used. Try over the counter Hydrocortisone cream to the external vaginal area. If this persists you may be dealing with a yeast infection, you can then try a yeast infection cream. If you still have symptoms visit your doctor again.

: The short answer is yes, you can get contaminated with (Herpes Simplex) cold sore virus by being contaminated with an infected person's saliva. You took the best immediate precautions, and possibly over did it.  Your child probably got the virus from you in the first place anyway.

Dunno: In general hyper pigmentation involves an increased number of melanocytes or activity of those cells and soap just cleans the top layer of skin cells. I would go see a top dermatologist and discuss management issues with him/her.

does diluting castile soap change the ph?

No.: pH will remain the same. Most of these soaps are designed to be pretty neutral with an excess of oil to lye ratio in the production. Castille soap has to sit for a long time to cure so there is very little unreacted lye.  However lye is very basic and leaves the soap with a pH about 8. That's pretty normal for soaps.

i know you do not put soap inside vagina. but what is best soap/body wash for outside area? castile soap? just water isn't good enough for me

No need to change...: There is no need to change soaps when showering. A woman or girl can just use the same mild shower soap that she washes everywhere else with, and just gently rub the places between the big labia and her thighs, and between the big labia and her small inner labia, and around the clitoris. That should gently remove excess oils (sebum) and stuff. Of course, "over-cleaning" can lead to rashes.

Maybe: Only way to know is to try it. Soap is drying and itch can be worsened by drying agents, but the only way to know is by drying. If it doesn't work, consider a hypoallergenic soap.
