i have constipation and stomach aches. i am on a strict all meat diet, and mostly my fats come from olive oil. couldthis be a problem? i probably have undiagnosed ibs, just based off symptom's i read , usually have constipation and diahrrea.

Stomach aches : IBS is diagnosed when other conditions are ruled out. There are many reasons for abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation. The combination of diarrhea and constipation certainly raises the possibility that someone has IBS.

Probably not: It does depend WHAT you are drinking. some components of alcoholic beverages like beer can contain carbohydrates that some people don't tolerate. It s unlikely to be the alcohol itself. Especially if its two days later.

Constipation remedy: There is no one size fits all constipation remedy, but pts your age usually have constipation due to lack of fiber in the diet, low water intake, excess meats, or drugs that slow gut movement (pain killers). Try drinking more water, eating fiber (fruits, veggies, oatmeal), taking metamucil, or cutting down on meats or pain meds.

Constipation: Constipation can be caused by lack of fiber in the diet. Please decrease sugars and fats in diet, and increase foods with fiber, like beans and green leafy vegetables. Drink lots of water.

See: A GI specialist. Try high fiber soft diet, drink plenty of fluids and increase activity level. Your GI May place you on stool softener, laxatives and or suppository or rectal manual stool evacuation if indicated

Many things: Constipation can be caused by  lot of problems. Though usually diet related, other causes are medications (narcotics) or (less commonly) hypothyroidism.
The first thing you should do is evaluate how much water you are taking in a day (>8 cups/day) and how much fiber you are eating (25 to 35 g/day). If that doesn't work, look to see if you are taking too many constipating foods like dairy or pasta.
