Another function is anti-inflammation, and is used in autoimmune conditions.

Not common: Retrovil is associated rarely with elevated ALT's and clinical liver disease, so it makes an isolated elevation in GGT from this medication less likely.  Remember alcohol consumption can also cause an elevated GGT.  Is there a reason why you are having GGT's checked if all your all liver function tests are normal?

Possible fatty liver: If you are not on any medication or taking any herbal supplements that can cause elevated liver enzymes, the most likely diagnosis would still be non-alcoholic fatty liver disease ("fatty liver") even with a normal sonogram.  Other imaging studies could confirm this, but the most definitive way to diagnose the cause is a liver biopsy.

Prob no Rx needed: Most healthy people have positive tests for CMV and HSV1, and almost always no treatment is needed. You list STDs, chlamydia, HIV etc as problems or topic tags, so be sure you are tested for active infection and treated if necessary. Follow your doctor&#x27;s advice on all this, but most likely nothing is wrong and probably neither HSV nor CMV has anything to do with your symptoms.

It means almost nothing for your health (half or more of us are +)but means something to the blood bank.Premature infants & those with immune issues (transplant, chemo) are only given CMV negative blood.

May not be anything.: It's not clear if such a small reduction means anything.  Globulin on a chemistry panel measures a group of blood proteins that include antibodies.  A low globulin can mean lowered immunity, but not always.  Additional testing (quantitative immunoglobulins) should be done to verify normal immune function.
