A member asked:

What can cause low serum globulin, 1.5 (reference cutoff 1.6)? can slightly low globulin have an affect on the accuracy of other labs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May not be anything.: It's not clear if such a small reduction means anything. Globulin on a chemistry panel measures a group of blood proteins that include antibodies. A low globulin can mean lowered immunity, but not always. Additional testing (quantitative immunoglobulins) should be done to verify normal immune function.
