Oxy IR &amp; ER  5 yrs: Hello. Didn't understand the  "to ba recently &amp; with the hard de".   You've been taking IR and ER forms for 5 years. You didn't mention your current dose. Boils down to half lives.( It's longer for ER version.) How your body metabolizes these meds is important. If your body metabolizes these medications slowly, then they are going to linger around much longer than stated half lives &amp; show on tests

Only for pain: Oxycodone will help with the pain but will not treat the problem. Finding the cause of your pain and treating it is a better plan. Try to find a doctor that does a lot of TMJ treatment. I have had luck with muscle relaxants and physical therapy.

Oxycodone: Yes and no.  Oxycodone is a frequently prescribed immediate release narcotic given to people who are on chronic opioid therapy with a sustained release narcotic taken orally or by patch.  The key is frequent follow-up with your pain physician to get to a regimen of sustained release narcotic where you require the minimum amount of oxycodone/breakthrough meds for emergency only.

Mixing pain meds: Roxicet is basically oxycodone combined with acetaminophen (tylenol)   so taking both would be equivalent to taking 10 mg of oxycodone.    Assuming you have been on oxycodone then the additional 5 mg should pose no problems
