Concerta is a: Stimulant. That can cause anxiety in some people. Please let your psychiatrist/ physician know.

Dr. can re-evaluate: Concerta is a stimulant so a more common side effect is insomnia (trouble falling asleep). Some people have felt sleepy while on concerta, but it is uncertain what other symptoms or other medications those people had. In general, a person can become sleepy when taking any one of a large variety of medications, even if most other people tolerate the meds fine. Avoid driving, etc...  Contact the dr.

i took 3 54mg daily concerta for my adhd(taken 6/7 hours apart) studying began feeling disoriented, pressure in chest, ears felt pluged with air, feeling better except disorientation, and small pressure like nausia/anticipation. is three safe to take?

: I would never advise one to take that amount of this drug. Your blood pressure was likely elevated ant the stress on your system produced the symptoms cited. The idea that some helps and more helps more doesn't apply to ADHD drugs at the high end of the dose range. You are lucky you didn't end up in the ER.

Change the dose: is the most likely response.  Your dose may  be too high.  He may also want to re-look at the accuracy of your diagnosis.

Thoughts: The issue is not for you to "feel better". It is for you to function better. Proper dosing should increase your ability to focus and complete tasks, which may be more apparent to those you work with. If they don't see a difference in productivity I would contact the doc.

No, : No, drinking alcohol could be very dangerous for you for multiple reasons.  With dysautonomia, drinking could provoke a serious change in your blood pressure which could cause you to pass out.  With the medications you are on, you could also get a reaction causing blood pressure changes or hemodynamic instability.

It will: It may not be related to Concerta or it could anxiety related and will go away slowly as anxiety dissipates.

Dangerous: You are overdosing. The starting dose of Concerta is 18 mg, not 54.  The dose should not be increased any more frequently than every 7 days. This is a potent medicine with potential for serious side effects including dangerous arrhythmias. I would have to suspect your symptoms are related.

: Before you go adding things I would talk to your doctor about alternatives to stimulants that you may not have tried it a lower dose of concerts.  Would let him know about your heightened anxiety on concerta.  I would not assume you have to live with that anxiety and stay on Concerta!  You were smart to ask this question.  Please don’t add even over the counter medications talking with your doctor

my son, kevin, had a bad reaction to concerta 36mg. severe anxiety, fast heart beat, cold sweats, clammy hands and shaking, stomach tightening and nausea feeling. lexamil 10mg was prescribed alongside for depression.

Concerta: Is he diagnosed with ADHD?   Since ADHD is very over-diagnosed I would wonder how much care was put into insuring the diagnosis was correct. Was he started on a dose of 36 mg or was he started on a lower dose and titrated upwards?  Concerta is a stimulant but it usually slows down people with ADHD and accelerates most other people.
