Move up appt: The irregular periods &amp; the complex cyst would be the cause for concern. But it may be just an unusual cycle. I'm not a gynecologist, but it might be worthwhile to try and move up the gynecology appointment. You can wait to see what happens next month (things may normalize), but monthS (plural) is too long for new symptoms. Explain this to the receptionist &amp; you can probably get seen sooner. GL!

Urgent evaluation: Sharp pain and vomiting with no periods for 3 months can occur with  an ovarian cyst, but these can also be the symptoms of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. If your pregnancy test is positive, this is a medical emergency. If your test is negative, you may still need evaluation for the amount of bleeding you are having, and to receive pain control. Talk to your doctor or go to emergency for evaluation.

Not that I am aware: Of.  An ovarian cyst can sometimes cause pelvic pain, but a simple ovarian cyst should not have any effect on a patient's period.

Usually resolve: It is normal for a small cyst to develop on the ovaries from time to time. Ovarian cysts are quite common in women during their reproductive years and may be a single cyst or many cysts. Most cysts are benign and only require monitoring.  Most are cysts which develops from tissue that changes in the normal process of ovulation. They usually disappear within 6-8 weeks.

Yes: It can be don't worry, size of cyst has nothing to do with period flow.

Possible,: but odds are in your favor, that it is not.  Polycystic ovarian syndrome is more likely. Important to followup with your doctor, as planned. 17 Cm is an unlikely measure of the uterine lining,  17 mm is possible.

Ovarian cyst: This cyst is smaller than a tennis ball, and larger than a ping pong ball. Sometimes cysts resolve on their own, and usually a repeat ultrasound is done. If they become large, painful, are suspicious for cancer, or don't resolve, then they can be surgically removed. See your OBGYN to discuss.

Rather unpredictable: Ovarian cysts are hard to predict in behavior in surveillance as recommended by your treating Gyn doc should be followed.

See MD: A complex mass at any time is concerning-but more so after menopause.  It may have been there for years and be totally benign, but most mds will be worried about a complex mass.  A ca125 and he4 test can help decide whether to go to surgery now or closely watching with follow up ultrasound.  If it is more than 5 cm or there are other worrisome looking signs on ultrasound, surgery will be necessary.

Prenatal vitamins: Vitamins will not interfere with ovarian cyst.
