i am an asthmatic and i wanted to know whether i should be taking regularly combihale fb 200 inhaler or not? 2-3 times a day 2 puffs each

No: Combivent (albuterol and ipratropium) (or albuterol)  should not be used as the sole agent to control your asthma. In fact, if used regularly, it may make your asthma worse. Contact your family doctor to get you on a controller drug (eg. Inhaled steroid) if you have asthma more than twice a week.

Depends . . .: Safety is a relative issue. You didn't mention why you were advised to take this medication, presumably for asthma or COPD (most likely the former given your youth). In these two conditions, it's most important to breath which then makes side effects more tolerable. However, caution is advised in severe liver disease such that long term safety is something you need to decide w/your doc.

i was prescribed strattera 40mg and effexor (venlafaxine) 150mg, any risk with these combinated medication?

: 1. Never combine anything with any supplement. You do not know what is in a supplement, if it is safe or if it had to be shown it does what it claims.

2 weeks ago creatinine was 1.06, urea 5, now creatinin is 0.94 urea is 4. a1c is 5.8. controled hypertention 125/80. kidney screening normal ranges. uric acid is 384 (borderline 340).why?combinated with the creatinine levels can it mean start od ckd?

No necessarily: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the laboratory should have reported an estimated glomerular filtration rate. If that is more 90, you are okay. If less consult a kidney doctor.

Generally, yes: The medicines in question are used by many many people, for short term and long term periods, and are considered safe. However, life is unpredictable, so patients work with their doctors to use the smallest amount of medicine as long as their asthma is controlled well. Usually, it is better to be on medication than to be sick with asthma symptoms (which do damage the lungs over time).

Safe if used right: Used alone, the brochodilator portion  was often used too frequently & associated with treatment delay when things got out of hand.It was pulled from the market for this reason.The combo med is a good maintenance med when used as directed.Your dosing sounds right for an adult. Share any concerns with your pcp when you next go in.

?: unfortunately no such preparation in the US that I know of, guaifenesin can produce the same effect as ambroxol, loosen phlegm, at any rate if really sick , see your doctor for yourself or your child

Accepted Answer

Expired Medication: Yes. I often tell my patients that as long as the product was not exposed to the elements or direct sunlight that simple expiration dates are fine to ignore.
