Depends . . .: Safety is a relative issue. You didn't mention why you were advised to take this medication, presumably for asthma or COPD (most likely the former given your youth). In these two conditions, it's most important to breath which then makes side effects more tolerable. However, caution is advised in severe liver disease such that long term safety is something you need to decide w/your doc.

Budesonide/formotero: I assume you are taking it for asthma. Long acting b2 agonists such as formoterol have a black box warning to increase the risk of death. It seems to be somewhat attenuated when taken along with a steroid formulation such as Budesonide as in your case. Most people do fine using this long term, though.
