These usually look like spider webs and can be attached to the bowel and inside abdominal wall or other intra-abdominal tissue. These can cause mild to significant pain. However, there are other potential causes. It would be most appropriate to have this problem evaluated by a physician.

Need information: 2 yr will not  have surgery unless born with congenital abnormality ( born with ) like imperforated anus where need to establish ano-rectal continuity  or  hirspriung cong.         A genesis of ganglion , a staged procedure was done, you need to talk to the ped. Surgeon to find ultimate prognosis , results are excellent i recent years due to excellent surgery and post op care.

Possible: But most likely , if you have closed wound , you  may have collection serosangenous  fluid   under the skin  possible early wound infection , and see your surgeon  may drain the wound

Not to worry: If there is no history of ulcerative colitis in the past there is no reason to believe a reversal procedure will precipitate one.  If you did not have ulcerative colitis before surgery you don't have to worry about it after.

Seroma?: Thin bloody drainage from a wound may be a simple seroma.  This is a collection of fluid in the wound. It is quite common. Thicker material might be a sign of infection.  Keep an absorbent dressing in place.  Let your surgeon see the wound at the next available date.

i had a colostomy reversal. i have never gotten back to the same type of bowel movements--it has been fairly mushy since. is this normal?

Yes, in most cases.: Usually patients with a colostomy have had part of their colon removed.  The colon is responsible for reabsorbing water from the stool. If you have less colon, then you will reabsorb less water and your stool will be softer and less formed in character. If you are not having any other symptoms besides the mushy stools, don't be alarmed. See your doctor if you have other symptoms though.
