See a doctor: Rectal bleeding can be from a variety of causes including hemmorhoids, colon cancer, diverticular disease, etc. You need to get it checked out by your doctor.

Get seen: You don't list your family history in regards to colon cancer or his age at diagnosis, but rectal bleeding is never normal, particularly with a history of cancer in your brother.  Recommend seeing your family physician with consideration for GI evaluation.

Colon cancer: Given your age and symptoms your doctor is probably correct. If you are not bleeding and not having symptoms i would not refer you for colonoscopy to evaluate for colon cancer. And yes, colon cancer would continue to bleed and would have caused multiple other symptoms by now.

No Rules: Unlikely that after all this time, there would be a cancer not causing symptoms. However, cancer does not follow rules.
If there was bleeding, some evaluation should have been done, and maybe still should.

Eval: Possible causes include: fissures, fistulas, hemorrhoids, cancer, infections or inflammation.  Although rough, dry stool could lead to hemorrhoids or bleeding - you can not just assume that is the reason for bleeding. Get evaluated if more than a one time occurence.

More needed: They both can cause bleeding, constipation by itself much more common than colon cancer. See your doc for an exam and further tests as needed in order to clarify.

Not very likey: Many GI problems present with similar symptoms.  Rarely is a GI symptom specific for just one problem.  Colon cancer is exceedingly rare for a 25 year old.  Keep your GI appt, it may be a hemorrhoid that can be fixed during your visit.

Possibly hemorrhoids: most rectal bleed is usually from hemorrhoids, cancer is extremely rare especially at this age, but needs to be ruled out, therefore a specialist either general surgeon or gastroenterologist is necessary.

my boyfriend has colon cancer and his body is so weak to a point were he can sleep all day and still feels so tired and he's been bleeding profusely e?

See answer: Very sorry to hear this. I wasn't sure what question you were asking? Is he in hospice?If so contact them immediately for advice. Otherwise, If he is bleeding profusely he should be transported to an ER for evaluation.
