Colloid nodules: Are generally benign, but if you've had an ultrasound and biopsy you should have a good idea of what your nodule is already. Generally no surgery is needed or recommended. Make sure your thyroid replacement is brand name T4 and that your levels are kept normal. Repeat ultrasound at intervals.

Not much: If there are no symptoms of food/pills sticking in throat , shortness of breath etc, and a negative biopsy, usually serial ultrasounds to monitor for nodule growth is all that's needed.

No short answer: Seeing just colloid and no follicular cells on a thyroid biopsy usually means that the nodule was mostly cystic so that thyroid tissue was not removed.  A repeat biopsy by an experienced physician directed at getting thyroid tissue and not fluid could be helpful.  Most people in your age group do not need surgery for this biopsy result, but rather, periodic ultrasound to look for significant chang.

Need to follow it: The likelihood of cancer is still quite low.  A lot depends on the characteristics of the cysts/nodules. If there are worrisome characteristics, surgery is indicated.  It is important that the cysts/nodules be followed by someone who knows what to look for.  Often an endocrinologist with ultrasound experience is better at this than a radiologist.

Follow advice of end: Your Endocrinologist can guide you best. Your biopsy appears to be inadequate to make a definite diagnosis. Future follow up with an endocrinologist is advised so that your thyroid can be monitored for any further growth of this nodule which is easy to do with an ultrasound.

Nodule: A colloid nodule of the thyroid is a benign growth that doesn't turn cancerous. I'm unsure if a thyroid ultrasound test alone can be sure that the nodule is a colloid one and whether a fine needle biopsy is needed for definitive diagnosis. For this reason I recommend consulting an endocrinologist or head and neck surgeon for advice, followup  and peace of mind.

Thyroid cyst: If the ultrasound and needle aspiration reveal only a thyroid cyst, it does not require surgery.  Cysts can sometimes get bigger or smaller, but as long as it is not so large as to bother you, your endocrinologist can just watch it with a periodic ultrasound.
