can you get cold sores on your feet?

I am not aware of : Herpes simplex type i affecting the feet. It often is found on  the lips, skin around  mouth, nose, chin, mouth, cheeks, & even eye or genitalia.   I will flag this question & ask one of the infectious disease doctors to also provide an answer.

As Dr. Sparacino : Noted, speak to your doctor about this.  I have never heard of anyone getting "cold sores" on their feet.  My pure and unadulterated guess (not seeing your feet) is they aren't cold sores.

About a week: HFM is a viral infection that causes blisters on palms, soles and in the mouth. Can be associated with moderate fever. The ulcers in the mouth will fade at different rates. Drink cool liquids, soft foods like pudding, yogurt, ice cream. Avoid acids like Orange Juice. Annoying but usually a self limiting condition. Tylenol (acetaminophen) can also help with the pain.

Hand/foot/mouth: There are several strains of gut virus that produce a pattern referred to as hand/foot/mouth disease. It is common in childhood &amp; eventually self heals with no meds. It can be confused with some other viral illnesses in the early stages.

read that cold sores are caused by hsv 1 and 2.  can the virus travel up nerves and cause outbreaks on feet, ankles, arms, or cause loss of hearing?  can it cause liver problems?

Locality based pbs: These viruses do hibernate between outbreaks within the nerve roots where they are found. (facial nerve roots)  They do not travel around the body. A cousin of HSV that causes chickenpox can emerge in other body sites as a shingles outbreak which is similar in function to the cold sore process but the two issues are not the same. They do not infect the liver.

Initial herpes: If the diagnosis is correct, it's probably her first infection with type 1 herpes simplex virus (HSV1), i.e. not a recurrent oubreak. (Recurrent cold sores are rarely inside the oral cavity.) Presumably she is being treated with acyclovir or valacyclovir. The rash could be an allergic reaction to the drug, but sometimes HSV causes a serious rash called erythema multiforme. Take her back to MD ASAP

No. HSV is a virus: HSV (Herpes simplex VIRUS) is a virus.  Antifungal cream won’t help.  Often gets better after menopause, with fewer episodes.  Mainly causes cold sores.  In some very immunocompromised individuals (cancer, organ transplant) it can spread widely over the body, but in the vast majority simply causes cold sores

Not a cold sore: A cold sore (herpes) is extremely unlikely on the foot. Something else is causing this, even if it looks like the kind of cold sore you might get on your mouth. See a doctor if it doesn't heal or you otherwise remain concerned.

Cold sores: No she need close contact with the lesion to catch it. So relax, don't let anyone kiss her on the lips. Enjoy your baby &amp;  good luck

Palmar rash: There are only a few rashes that will involve the palms and soles. Some entirely benign, some serious. You should see your Primary Care Provider to sort this out.
