Get her seen: This is something you should take her in  so a proper evaluation can be done. I would never try to manage severe pain at home.

Great : Great question. Well, if you were hypothyroid it could lead to very low energy and to feeling down. If you don't have adhd/ add and you are taking ritalin, (methylphenidate) it could have a stimulant effect that would help to lift your  focus, your low energy and your mood. Ptsd can definately be a cause for difficulty with concentration and memory. However, it is best to treat the cause of the ptsd, rather than just taking a stimulant.  I am glad that you are going to get a medical check up. Since you also have ptsd, it would be in your best interest to see a psychiatrist for a comprehensive evaluation with medication recommendations. Good luck.

my active sister broke her hip 2mo ago. she had hip replacement, infection, replacement of artif hip with spacer, then removal of spacer. what next?

Revision surgery: She will require antibiotics for at least six weeks, followed by a second hip replacement surgery called a revision.

my orthopedic surgeon used a steinmann pin to help put in a hip spacer and was unable to get it out. how important is it that it comes out when he goes in to take out the spacer and put in the prosthesis?

: Hip spacers are temporary prosthetic devices usually used while treating infections of prior hip replacements that were removed. This is a highly technical area of orthopedic specialization, and you are drilling down to detail specific to your case only. Presumably, that pin WILL come out, and a healthtap orthopedist might give a better answer, but YOUR orthopedist is the one who knows.

what are toe spacers and can they help my bunions?

Cushions to spread: Toes apart. May provide help in certain bunion deformities by providing counter pressure against the deviated big toe when placed in between big toe and next toe. This is a palliative treatment and does not correct deformity.

need a tooth extracted due to impaction. teeth are rather crooked. can i get an implant or bridge instead of braces? can a spacer hold the spot temp?

Depends: Depending on the space between the teeth and the position of the tooth roots, dental implants may or may not be an option. A dental bridge may also be possible. If braces are what you truly want, often times an appliance could be made to maintain the 'open' space until you are able to have the implant placed.  This will prevent unwanted tooth movement.

toe gap after metatarsal osteotomy for hallux valgus. 2 weeks today, started using toe spacer. will it make the gap permanent? also should i start trying some toe movements or wait until week 6 when i see the physio?

: Using a toe gap spacer at two weeks is not going to provide much of anything but will not hurt anything either. Yes work on ROM Very important. Stitches can be removed If osteotomy performed weight bearing may not be appropriate. Call your surgeon. Get your concerns answered

Cold Feet: Poliomyelitis causes neurological injury that can lead to a condition known as autonomic dysfunction in some people.  This condition can result in "instability" of the blood vessels which can precipitate constriction and cooling as blood flow diminishes.  Additionally, direct injury to the nerves in the periphery can affect the cold/heat sensors and send erroneous information to the brain.
