Gastrin: Is a hormone produced by the pancreas which stimulates production of stomach acid. Your doctor was looking for a disease called Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome in which your body would produce far too much gastrin, causing too much acid production leading to stomach ulcers. The fact that your gastrin level is normal means that you don't have the disease. Hope this helps!

Lung nodules can be anything from the banal lesions of histoplasmosis that are almost the norm in much of the US to metastatic cancer. Telling the difference is the radiologist’s and clinicians job. I hope it’s nothing.

No: I am going to assume you've been found to have an elevated gastrin level and this is causing you to make extra stomach acid. The Prilosec will help protect your stomach from the gastrin. This isn't a forum to evaluate a complete history, but if you have a gastrinoma, there are often additional ways to manage it though Prilosec is a good start. Stay proactive and good luck.
