Pinched nerve: Occurs when too much pressure is applied to a nerve by surrounding tissues. The common symptoms are numbness, sharp, aching or burning pain, which may radiate outward to your ear, eye, pharynx and extremities. 
Treatment: physical therapy, medications, cognitive behavioral therapy and acupuncture.
The treatment is usually effective and no need to die.

my neck and has been killing me i think i had a muscle strain or something but my question is can a neck injury cause occasional dizziness ?

Yes: Any severe pain may cause dizziness. It is not feasible to provide a more meaningful opinion without examining you. You may wish to consult a sports medicine specialist. Exercising will help loosen the muscles.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

It can: Different types of thyroid cancer- papillary, follicular, medullary & anaplastic. Just like majority of cancers- stage IV cancer- is considered to be incurable- though treatable. People do die from thyroid cancer- especially with anaplastic cancer where disease specific mortality is 100%. Metastatic mtc  also carries a poor prognosis. Prognosis of the papillary/follicular cancer are usually better.

when radio active iodine is given, is it always given to kill your thyroid? or can smaller doses be given to kill some of your thyroid?

In an ideal world...: The object would be to kill just the right amount of your thyroid, but that doesn't usually happen, the next best thing is to kill all or most of it so that you can get on with your life.  Imagine the expense and inconvenience having to take radioactive iodine more than once to kill just the right amount....

can a person take atomic iodine to kill the thyroid if he/she has hypokalemic periodic paralysis?

Periodic paralysis: There are genetic causes of hypokalemic periodic paralysis.  However, graves disease/hyperthyroidism also can cause thyrotoxic periodic paralysis with hypokalemia.  So you need to get your thyroid fixed, and radioactive iodine is a good way to do this.   Your condition is complex.  Please see an endocrinologist if you have not seen one already.

if i have an overactive thyroid, but not graves' disease, should i have  radioactive iodine in an amount to kill my thyroid or stop some of hormone?

Goiter orthyroiditis: If not graves, it could be a toxic nodular goiter, or hashitoxicosis, or thyroiditis.   Most forms of thyroiditis resolve spontaneously. If the hyperthyroidism has been going on a while, you probably need definitive treatment:  surgery or radioactive iodine (rai).  Either is acceptable, but requires expertise.  Surgery should be from an experienced thyroid surgeon.  Talk to your endocrinologist.

Nothing if treated!: If treated appropriately, you do not have to have any long-term consequences from hyperthyroidism. If left untreated, the most serious concern is a heart problem like rapid or irregular heartbeat. Longstanding hyperthyroidism can cause osteoporosis (fragile bones) and fractures. If untreated, other issues can be psychiatric disease, weight loss, trouble sleeping, or eye disease.

i'm just curious i had covid back in march. within weeks i noticed mild dysphagia(feels like a piece of bread stuck one side) and a nodule on left side of neck/throat within last 4 days. even with a fam history of thyroidism. could covid be the cause?

: Covid could be the cause of an enlarged lymph node, if that is what is causing your symptoms. If this continues, you should see your doctor to have this evaluated. You may need to see GI for the swallowing difficulty. If the lymph node is enlarged from Covid, this should gradually decrease in size. Good luck!
