Varies.: Most people have been in contact with CMV,  but only people with weakened immune systems tend to get seriously ill with it. One of the most serious complications is pneumonia followed by encephalitis. There can be serious problems if the virus is contracted by pregnant women.

Hard to say: CMV is one of the infections that can achieve a latent or hibernating state & reactivate periodically. Day care center studies have documented 30-70% urine or saliva prevalence in 1-3yo. Adults also shed the virus periodically after infection. Regular hygienic practices should be followed in all age groups at any time & those recovering from CMV should not be treated any differently.

Viral illness: Herpes 6 = roseola, a benign self limited infection that occurs in kids under 3. CMV can cause a mono-like illness, and is also generally benign. You have nothing to worry about with either of these past infections at this point.
