Hard to say: CMV is one of the infections that can achieve a latent or hibernating state & reactivate periodically. Day care center studies have documented 30-70% urine or saliva prevalence in 1-3yo. Adults also shed the virus periodically after infection. Regular hygienic practices should be followed in all age groups at any time & those recovering from CMV should not be treated any differently.
