upon wakening ive been having a metallic taste in mouth and back pain so i spit and there was blood in spit but when i coughed it was brown specks so im not sure if its from my lungs or my mouth i had a chest x-ray and cbc on 7-16 normal what isit?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Any abnormal bleeding warrants an evaluation. It would be prudent to see your doctor and ascertain if you need to see a chest specialist or a dentist.

my mom was diagnosed with bilateral nodules in the lungs by a chest x-ray and ct scan. the doctor told her that her system is good and there is no sign or symptom of any disease. but i'm worried. what should i do?

Soooo...: Nodule is not a diagnosis.  It is a description of a finding on a study.  Really need to know what kind of nodule.  There are several types of nodules that are completely benign.  He would not have told you all was well unless i really was.  Doctors are generally very conservative.  If her doc said not to worry why do you continue to worry? Maybe you should talk to them again.

male 33, had a bad flu / virus unknown reasons went to doctor later on because of blood spitting, ct scan found nothing, no blootclot in the lungs, chest x-ray done nothing found, what is causing this? i'm not sure anymore. bronchoscopy coming soon?

: Blood in sputum when coughing (hemoptysis) is NOT UNCOMMON in acute bronchitis. I am not sure why bronchoscopy is indicated if chest X-ray and CT were normal unless your blood test results have revealed some hints for certain diseases which require bronchoscopy although CT was negative. Good luck with your next test.

No: A chest x-ray is a very insensitive test for detection of pe. Ct of chest with contrast is the usual exam ordered if there is clinical suspicion of pe.

Accepted Answer

Further evaluation.: First is to compare with any prior chest xray as most findings present for at least two years without change are benign.

Otherwise either a followup chest xray or ct scan would be advised depending on what the initial finding looked like.  

Pneumonias can clear up on treatment, small nodules commonly are benign but can be due to cancer so followup with xray or ct is usually recommended.

X-Ray: you need to discuss this with the ordering/examining doctor as they have your history, your results and have done an exam.  They are in the best position to explain things and give you advice.

Enlarged lung: I am not sure what  " enlarged lung " means here. But whatever is- i strongly recommend you and i sincerely hope that you would quit smoking. Smoking is a bad habit and there is nothing good you are going to get from smoking.

No: Lung Hyperinflation is not related to body habitus. It is typically seen from disease causing significant air trapping in the lung such as severe asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

my chest x-ray indicated my lungs are hyper-inflated. what causes this? no asthma & non-smoker.

Smoke-damaged lungs: Hyperinflated lungs implies smoke-damage, which leads to emphysema, which leads to copd. If you haven't already, stop smoking -- you will live 10 years longer than your 42yo friends that keep smoking! the inhalers you're using are #1 steroid for lung inflammation, and #2 bronchodilator for coughing/wheezing. With luck, after 1-2mo you can stop #2 and maintain on #1, assuming you can quit smoking.
