which benzo is harsher on your liver--klonopin or ativan (lorazepam)?

Clonazepam: Benzodiazepines are rarely associated with elevated liver functions or clinically apparent liver injury and have not caused acute or chronic liver failure. However, there have been a few case reports about Clonazepam irritating the liver [none about Ativan] and therefore it would be considered slightly harsher.Their effect on the liver is  probably due to a rarely produced intermediate metabolite.

i take suboxone 2 mg and klonopin. had my most recent labs in august and ultrasound in september. all was normal. i just had my liver panel done. should i be concerned that something may be wrong? or labs would be elevated?

: There is no need to worry about anything before seeing you lab results. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests.

does klonopin (clonazepam) medication for anxiety cause a rise in neutroplis and ggt counts  rest of my liver panel normal?

Yes: It can cause liver function test abnormalities.  Usually, it is mild and patients can cont to stay on the medication with some monitoring.  Of course, Lipitor (atorvastatin) and can do it as well.  No reports on Klonopin and Lipitor (atorvastatin) having synergistic affect on liver test abnormalities.

i have gilbert's syndrome. just started taking antidepressants - escitalopram 5mg and clonazepam 0.5mg both once daily (14 days done). my liver will be safe right ? gilbert's syndrome won't have any effect on these medicines ?

: Gilbert's syndrome is a non concerning condition. Speak to your doctor, there is no known interaction with Gilberts and escitalopram and clonazepam.

have taken klonopin 1.5, tegretol 600, lamictal 100, cymbalta (duloxetine) 60  bipolar-ocd for 8 years-liver functions fine-how long before i have liver problems?

Not everybody has it: If for 8 years on all these medications you didn't have issues , it is likely that you will not have anything bad in the future. Also not all the medications in this list cause liver fn. abnormalities.  Get periodic check up of liver enzymes once in 6 months. That should be enough, which  could be ordered by your PCP.

giant liver hemagioma  liver panel test okay except ggt went up from 68 to 88 in 1year does it mean mass is growing or could it be new med clonzepam?

Elevated Liver: functions could be caused by either one.  Clonazepam isn't notorious for causing an elevation.  I would suspect if the hemangioma was growing it would increase all the LFTs.

Anxiety: It can be used for a variety of anxiety disorders, such as being worried excessively all of the time or spikes of anxiety called panic attacks. Clonazepam is a powerful benzodiazepine which are a class medications that should generally be used in the short-term (4-6 weeks) until other medications or therapy start working. Other meds in this class are alprazolam and lorazepam.

Long acting: It's long acting  benzo helps anxiety even absence seizure panic disorder. Leg movement also have risk is abuse and dependence.

Klonopin (clonazepam): Is medical emergency that needs supportive tx in er. There is extreme sedation, confusion, loss of consciousness, slowing of metabolic activities & heart, coma & death if not resuscitated.

No: Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine.  Other drugs that are benzodiazepines are valium and xanex
