i had an ear tube placed in right ear for etd. it has helped; however, now my left ear feels clogged. why is this, and do i need another tube?

Clogged ear : Get it examined as it may just be a build up of ear wax

i have bilat ear tubes. the right ear tube is clogged. can this be done with ear drops?  instead of replacing the tube?

Maybe: An ENT doc can also sometimes push a tiny probe through the tube opening to remove the clog. Adults that are willing to sit still for the procedure find this a simple process, many kids will cooperate for it also.

i have ear tubes (myringotomy) and they still feel like they need to pop. every time i swallow i hear clicking. can my eustachian tube be the issue and not the grommet? i can blow air through the grommet so it isnt clogged?

: Jaw movement or swallowing straightens the Eustachian tube allowing it to open &amp; air pass easier. The opening of the tube is often noticed by a mild click. It is not a worrisome symptom.

at doc.bit fluid last week.feel clogged now. phlegm. dizzy. can i use saline spray to clear ear tubes? had sneezing+freezing occasionally over weeks.

I would not: spray any ear tubes yourself, ask your doctor to do that for you.   If you have allergy symptoms such as sneezing, hot/cold or itching, try taking an OTC antihistamine like cetirizine, loratadine or fexofenadine and see if symptoms will improve.   You can also try OTC Flonase or fluticasone spray for your nostrils to relieve runniness or mild congestion.

decadron (dexamethasone) drops for new ear tube that's clogged. the drops hurt a lot when i put them in. is there anyway to make it hurt less?why does is hurt so bad?

Giving otic drops: This may be an adverse reaction from the medication itself. Try premedicating with Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen). I often find that warming up the drops by rolling the bottle between your hands helps with the discomfort/dizziness that can occur with administration of the medication.

i my ear tube that was put in yesterday is now clogged. they gave me decadron (dexamethasone) drops. they never told me how to unclog it. how do i? what caused it?

Clogged ear tube: Some debris or ear wax has clogged your tube. Use the Decadron (dexamethasone) drops as instructed. It tube is not cleared within a week, see your doctor.

Eustachian Tube: A clogged ear with no infection or fluid in the ear is usually the result of a poorly functioning eustachian tube. This is the connection from the middle ear to the nose, responsible for maintaining proper air pressure in the ear.When clogged, the ear feels full or stuffy.

can afrin and flonase thickin the fluid in eustachian tube?  i used both yesterday 2 sprays in each nostril. my left ear feels clogged today.

Not likely: Flonase does not reach optimum potency until used consistently for days.  It is more likely that whatever causes one to use nose sprays in the first place results in inefficient Eustachian Tube drainage due to inflammation.  Stay the course as advised by your physician.  Make sure to review the warnings on these if using otc.

are there good alternative therapies for ear tubes?

Ear tubes...: ... Are usually the solution, not the problem, and once they are in place the need for any treatment goes way down.
