i have been prescribed with clindamycin 300mg and ibuprofen 800mg for a severe tooth infection but as i took my first pill of the day, my face and lip area and started to swell up but no pain had occurred. is this a sign of allergy?

: Yes, stop both medications although Clindamycin is likely the offender especially you took Ibuprofen OTC without problem in the past. Call the dentist for a different antibiotic if you have no problem with Ibuprofen in the past.

No,: The antibiotics and opioids do not affect the effectiveness of any form of hormonal birth control. This includes Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone). For more information ask your surgeon.

No: While there can be side effects from antibiotics tiredness is often a sign of significant adverse effect as neither of these meds has that as a prominent side effect

Should be OK: Fever is sign of ongoing inflammation. Patients can have some low grade fever even after being on antibiotics. It is OK to give the dose per age(mentioned in the label) of acetaminophen or tylenol or ibuprofen. However, need to be careful about the side effects. Cold (not ice cold but tap-water cold) towel over the body is also a good home remedy. If fever continues, take him to his doctor.

Safe addition : The addition of clindamycin to your medications is safe.  The combination of pregabalin and Trazadone, as I'm sure you know, can cause drowsiness

can i take oxycodone and ibuprofen for post toe surgery pain relief? would it be better to take them together/spread them apart? do i need to be more careful about how much ibuprofen because of the oxycodone? (also taking clindamycin?

: It would help to stay off your foot and elevate it, some mild heat on top would alleviate pain. Try and do not take oxycodone, just ibuprofen every 6 hrs should suffice in my opinion.

had surgery to remove impacted wisdom tooth 8 days ago. have had lots of pain and taken ibuprofen daily which helps. finished 7 day course clindamycin yesterday. pain is improving but still feel exhausted and unwell. could this be normal?

: I don't think that postop fatigue is unusual given the degree of persistent pain you experienced. In addition inflammation from oral surgery   &amp; healing process make the body work hard. I also wonder if you had difficulty tolerating a good diet or had sleep disturbance.

Yes: Hi. You haven't told us why you're taking clinda, but there is no problem taking ibuprofen for a headache while taking clinda. Good luck with the headache and the infection!
